Where are they now

L’uomo diceva che la Natura era sua madre
ha fatto una promessa alla sua nascita,
ma lei corre come una volpe braccata per cercare riparo
in mezzo mondo.
La foresta si trasformò in alte navi,
e anche se hanno combattuto bene per l’Inghilterra
il vuoto risuona nel corso dei secoli
come una campana cava.
Dove sono adesso?
Vecchi misteri,
le grandi idee di mille anni
tutto perso nella brezza.
Dove sono adesso?
Chiedere meraviglie ai nostri figli
fede cieca in tutte le regole,
ma i ciechi guidano i ciechi fin dalla culla
per la fede degli stolti(1).
Un figlio è andato sotto al commerciante
un altro andò dal vescovo
un altro figlio per servire il re
e il paese in qualche reggimento.
Ogni anno a fine dicembre
ascolta gli angeli araldi cantare nella chiesa,
si pronunciano parole di pace sulla Terra.
