NOTE
(1) roll ha molti significati nelle shanties, in genere è un’esortazione a darsi da fare per far navigare la nave
(2) esortazione a manovrare le vele più alacremente per raggiungere Sally Brown
(3) “Bone in her teeth” è un’espressione marinaresca che significa “a vele spiegate” cioè con tutte le vele tirate su (spiegazione qui)
(4) Trinidad è la più meridionale delle isole caraibiche un altro verso dice salpare per Trinidad per dipingere il fottuto rimorchio.”

(2) exhortation to work the sails more quickly to reach Sally Brown
(3) or in the second line “Oh bound away, with a bone(3) in her mouth boys. “Bone in her teeth” is the expression used for a bow wave, usually implying that the vessel in question was moving pretty fast. (see more here)
